Born in San Diego, Dr. Baliwas received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Davis, followed by post-baccalaureate studies in Human Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Oregon. He received his doctorate in dentistry from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where he graduated with high honors and was elected to join both Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Tau Kappa Omega dental honor societies. He is also a graduate of the highly respected Kois Center, which is focused on Advancing Dentistry through Science.
He has received several awards for his outstanding clinical work in the areas of esthetic dentistry, oral implantology, restorative dentistry, and endodontics.
Dr. Baliwas teaches part-time at the University of the Pacific Dental School in the Department of Integrated Reconstructive Dental Sciences, where he inspires his students to maintain a high level of commitment, passion, and pride in their dental work.
As an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and several study clubs throughout the Bay Area, Dr. Baliwas strives to surround himself with some of the best practitioners in his field. He sees the art of dentistry as a journey of continuous learning, traveling down the path of excellence in search of perfection in his craft.
Outside of the office, Dr. Baliwas enjoys traveling, working out, kayaking, gardening, collecting sneakers, and golfing. He is a self-proclaimed sushi connoisseur, forever in search of the best Omakase in town.
Dr. Miller grew up not far from San Francisco, in Davis, California, and is a graduate of UC Davis where he studied Managerial Economics and Psychology. After three years working in real estate finance he decided to pursue a career in dentistry and enrolled in the Pre-Health Professional Post-Baccalaureate program at the San Francisco State University before attending University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. He is also a graduate of the highly respected Kois Center, which is focused on Advancing Dentistry through Science.
He was elected to the Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society in dental school and also received multiple awards for his clinical excellence in oral implantology, and esthetic dentistry. He also remains an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Francisco Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Miller is a part-time instructor in the Department of Integrated Reconstructive Dental Sciences at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
With a passion for serving others, Dr. Miller leads yearly trips to rural Mexico with LIGA Flying Doctors of Mercy. His group of dentists travel alongside volunteer airline pilots to help the less fortunate people of San Blas, Sinaloa.
He loves to explore the city’s local food scene and also enjoys traveling to discover new cuisines and restaurants. Be sure to ask him what should be next on your list!

Xylo, appropriately named after pain-relieving anesthesia, is our office service dog. Xylo is specifically trained to alert and respond to possible anxiety/panic attacks, depression, and other mental health issues. She has also been trained to provide tactile/pressure stimulation for our severely anxious patients during their appointments.
Appointments with Xylo must be pre-scheduled. Please be aware that Xylo may be “on-duty” when you see her at the office. Please ask prior to approaching or petting her, especially if she is with a patient.
